Moistening Tea
From Dr. Chen’s family book. In the Chinese tradition this blend of he shou wu and biota seed is used to moisten the intestines.

1. 30g Her Sho Ouu Radix Polygoni Multiflori 2. 30g Bor Tzyy Ren Semen Biotae 1. Combine all the ingredients in a pot. 2. Add 1.5 liters of water. 3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a low simmer. 4. Cook for 50 minutes. 5. Makes about 1 liter of tea. 6. Let cool, strain, and chill the tea. 7. Drink as often as you wish.
Contains he shou wu (fo-ti). Rare cases of liver injury have been reported with fo-ti. Do not use if you have liver disease, and do not drink this tea daily over a long period. Stop and see a doctor if you notice dark urine, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or unusual tiredness.
A traditional family recipe, not medical advice. Not for pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you take medicine or have a health condition, ask your doctor or pharmacist before trying any herbal tea.
