Acupressure Points for Relieving Headaches & Migraines




There are the acupressure points for relieving Headaches and Migraines. Working on these points can help you get better quicker. You do not have to use all of these points. Using just one or two of them whenever you have a free hand can be effective.
Points (A) — Third Eye Poin
Location: Directly between the eyebrows, in the indentation where the bridge of the nose meets the forehead. Traditionally used for: This point balances the pituitary gland, relieves hay fever, headaches, indigestion, ulcer pain, eyestrain.
Points (B) — Drilling Bamboo
Location: In the indentations on either side of where the bridge of the nose meets the ridge of the eyebrows. Traditionally used for: Relieves eye pain, headaches, hay fever, eye fatigue, sinus pain.
Points (C) — Facial Beauty
Location: At the bottom of the cheekbone, below the pupil. Traditionally used for: Relieves eye fatigue and pressure, nasal and head congestion, eyestrain, toothaches.
Points (D) — Wind Mansion
Location: In the center of the back of the head in a large hollow under the base of the skull. Traditionally used for: Relieves pain in the eyes, ears, nose, throat, as well as mental problems, headaches, vertigo, stiff necks.
Points (E) — Gates of Consciousness
Location: Below the base of the skull, in the hollow between the two vertical neck muscles. Traditionally used for: Relieves arthritis, headaches (including migraines), dizziness, stiff neck, neck pain, neuromotor coordination problems, eyestrain, irritability.
Points (F)– Heavenly Pillar
Location: One-half inch below the base of the skull, on the ropy muscles one-half inch outward from the spine. Traditionally used for: Relieves stress, burnout, exhaustion, insomnia, heaviness in the head, eyestrain, stiff necks, sore throats.
Points (G) — oining the Valley
Caution: This point is forbidden for pregnant women because its stimulation can cause premature contractions in the uterus.
Location: In the webbing between the thumb and index finger, at the highest spot of the muscle that protrudes when the thumb and index finger are brought close together. Traditionally used for: Relieves frontal headaches, toothaches, shoulder pain, labor pain.
Points (H) — Bigger Rushing
Location: On the top of the foot, in the valley between the big toe and second toe. Traditionally used for: Relieves foot cramps, headaches, eye fatigue, hangovers, allergies, arthritis.
Points (I) — Above Tears
Location: On the top of the foot, one inch above the webbing of the fourth and fifth toes in the groove between the bones. Traditionally used for: Relieves hip pain, shoulder tension, arthritic pains that move all over the body, headaches, sideaches, water retention, sciatica.
Caution: If you have a serious illness, or life-threatening illness such as heart disease, or cancer, please consult with your physician before practicing Acupressure.
Acupressure is self-care, not a replacement for diagnosis or treatment. Stop if you feel sharp pain, numbness or dizziness. Pregnant or trying to conceive? Skip LI4, SP6, GB21, BL60 and BL67 unless your practitioner directs it. Get medical care first for chest pain, sudden weakness, fainting, heavy bleeding, or a high fever.
