Change-of-Season Tea

From Dr. Chen’s family book. In the Chinese tradition this blend of astragalus, eucommia, codonopsis and ginger is used to strengthen the Wei (defensive) Qi at the change of seasons.

dish_1recipe011. 50g Hwang Chyi Radix Astragalus 2. 50g Duh Jong Cortex Eucommiae 3. 40g Dang Shen Radix Codonopsis Pilosulae 4. 30g Ginger 1. Slice ginger and combine all the ingredients in a pot. 2. Add 3 liters of water. 3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a low simmer. 4. Cook for 60 minutes. 5. Makes about 2 liters of tea. 6. Let it cool and strain. Discard the solids and chill tea in refrigerator. 7. Drink 0.4 liters(1 glass) everyday or 4-5 days or until finished.
