Part Used: The penis or testis can be obtained at any time. After removing the fat, the testis is dried in the shade.

Therapeutic Effects:
To tonify the kidneys and strengthen yang.
Indications & Combinations: Deficiency of kidney yang manifested as impotence, aversion to cold and cold extremities. Dog testis (Huanggoushen) is used with Wolfberry fruit (Gouqizi), Morinda root (Bajitian) and Dadder seed (Tusizi).
Dosage: 1.5-3 g (for pills)
Cautions & Contraindications: This substance is contraindicated in cases with internal heat with excessive fire.
